How to Play
- Choose a Training Mode, Grid Mode, and Challenge Level. The selected Challenge Level sets the countdown clock for each round.
- Tap 1 to start the countdown, then select the numbers in ascending order through 25 or 50, depending on your Training Mode. Finish each round before the clock reaches zero.
- Master — 20 seconds: no number is highlighted. Find the next target without a visual cue.
- Elite — 30 seconds: no number is highlighted. Find the next target without a visual cue.
- Advanced — 45 seconds: no number is highlighted. Find the next target without a visual cue.
- Intermediate — 60 seconds: no number is highlighted. Find the next target without a visual cue.
- Beginner — 90 seconds: the next-number box stays highlighted until you select it.
- Tap the wrong number and the entire box flashes red. Reset your focus and continue with the current target.
- In multi-round challenges, the grid reshuffles between rounds. Dynamic Grid also reshuffles after every correct selection; Static Grid keeps numbers in place. Aim for speed while protecting accuracy.
Challenge Level sets the countdown: Master 20 seconds, Elite 30, Advanced 45, Intermediate 60, and Beginner 90 seconds per round. Beginner also keeps the next-number cue visible; higher levels remove that cue. Static Grid keeps number positions fixed; Dynamic Grid reshuffles after each correct selection. Train yourself to scan, remember the next target, recover quickly, and execute under pressure.
Why Athletes Play This
Concentration grids and related mental performance challenges train focus, visual scanning, memory, and agility through progressive tasks. These skills connect to game moments—spotting open teammates, tracking opponents, anticipating plays, reacting to sudden changes, and refocusing after mistakes.
SHARPEN VISUAL SCANNING
Practise searching across the full grid instead of fixating on one area.
IDENTIFY TARGETS FASTER
Locate the next number while ignoring nearby numbers that are not part of the sequence.
STRENGTHEN SEQUENTIAL PROCESSING
Keep the next number in mind and follow the sequence from start to finish.
BUILD ATTENTIONAL CONTROL
Use the selected cue level to practise directing attention with different amounts of visual support.
RESET AFTER ERRORS
Return attention to the correct target after a wrong selection instead of dwelling on the mistake.
DEVELOP CONSISTENCY
Compare round times and accuracy across attempts to monitor your practice patterns.
HOW TO CONNECT IT TO YOUR SPORT
In competition, athletes must quickly locate teammates, track opponents, recognize openings, and respond to changing plays. The Numbers Concentration Grid provides a simple way to practice visual scanning, sequential attention, and refocusing—skills athletes can work on alongside sport-specific training.
This is a cognitive practice activity, not a validated measure of peripheral vision or athletic performance.
